Have you ever thought of adding halva in your smoothie? I did, and its wonderful. Halva is sweet and delicious you can even add it into your banana milkshake or smoothie to give a special twist. Serve this milkshake at a family brunch or bridal shower and you'll surely surprise your friends and family with that unexpected pinch of middle eastern flavor.
You can buy halva in the kosher aisle of your supermarket. There are countless types of halvas to choose, from marble, vanilla to pistachio. I used vanilla halva in this recipe. But if you are making a chocolate milkshake, you ca definitely go for that marble chocolate-vanilla halva blend.
- 2 bananas
- 3/4 of milk
- 1/2 cup of ice
- Juice of 1/2 an orange
- 2-3 tbsp of vanilla halva, plus a pinch for topping
Prep time: 10 minutes | 2-4 servings
- Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blitz.
- Pour mixture in a glass and top it with halva. Voila! You can now enjoy halva in your shake!
